Bring Back Boylston

Nearly two weeks after the Boston Marathon tragedies, Boylston street and Copley Square reopened in Boston. On this beautiful day, thousands of people turned out to view the memorial site, pay their respects at the bombing sites, and patronize local businesses. Slowly, a sense of normalcy began to return to Boston.

Boston Marathon 2013

Today was the 117th running of the Boston Marathon on Patriots' Day - one of the best days of the year in Massachusetts. Unfortunately, there were some terrible terrorist attacks at the finish line which cast a shadow on the day, killing at least 2 and injuring dozens.

Sharing some of my images from the day to prove that there is some happiness out there and to hopefully raise some spirits.

More pictures from the day on Flickr here.

Amelia Island 2013 - Part 2

Continuing from the last set of shots, here are some more cars! Some of them are from Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance and some are from a show a few miles down the road, Festivals of Speed. Amelia Island was great. Hope to be back some year in the future for another show.

In this set, there's a picture of Wayne Carini filming the Chasing Classic Cars show. He was all over the event and was very talkative and approachable.

The full gallery is on Flickr here if you'd like to check them out.

Amelia Island 2013 - Part 1

This weekend featured a quick 36-hour trip to Florida for the Amelia Island car show. Weather was in the mid-70s and sunny both days, making it a great escape from the 30s back in Boston. About the show? If you're a guy who likes cars in any way: GO. It was awesome.

I'll have a few posts on this due to the huge amount of cars there... so I may have gone a bit shutter-happy. If you'd like to see the rest of the pics, they're on Flickr here.

Walking Providence

The other weekend, we decided to take a day trip to Providence to catch a PC basketball game, which we hadn't gone to in a few years. Rather than driving, we changed it up and took the train down from Boston. Aside from a 30 minute "security situation" on the Amtrak to Providence, it was great! Plenty of walking all over the city, which is probably evidence as to why so few so few pictures. But we hit the key spots: Federal Hill, downtown, and the East Side / College Hill. A cold and overcast day, but it was great to be back.

Also on Flicker here.
