It's been a while! And I've definitely forgotten to post some pictures from the past few months. Let's take care of that with a few posts in a row from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park this fall. This first group here is an early October day exploring the beaches, cliffs, and trails of Acadia in the mist, fog, and rain. Although it was peak leaf season -and the tourists on the roads definitely showed it- most of the side trails were deserted, so it wasn't a complete bust!

Walden Pond at Sunset
In late October, I took a half day to try to shoot the peak foliage in the area. Unfortunately, the day had been overcast with little sun shining through. As sunset was approaching, I made my way to Walden Pond, hoping for the best. The clouds departed and I had a great 45 minutes of golden hour photography - with dark late afternoon shadows and strong light.
You'll see some swimmers in these pictures - there is a group of older individuals and couples (65+) who routinely swim the cool water here every afternoon!
Walden is such a quiet and relaxing place, it's worth the drive out to Concord.

Autumn Scenes in MA
Two weeks ago, we spent most of a day exploring and looking for some classic New England foliage. It was an overcast day, but Lexington Battle Green (where the Revolutionary War began) had some great color. A morning detour to Wellesley and Natick brought great shots of barns and more rural side-road scenes.

Nissitissit Covered Bridge in Fall
Last weekend began the peak foliage show in southern New England. On a Sunday afternoon we took a quick drive to Brookline and Hollis, New Hampshire to visit some local farms, view the foliage, and of course snag some pictures of a covered bridge.
Full set of fall pictures are here on Flickr. More to come this week!

Apples & Autumn
Four of us were set on visiting some local farms today and made the trip out to Holliston's Highland Farm. This was a great year for the apple harvest and the trees were loaded!

Great Fall Weekend
This past weekend had great weather - mid-70s on Saturday and mid-60s on Sunday, with plenty of sun to go around. On Saturday, we went for a hike in Mass Audubon's Broadmoor conservation land in Natick. Found some great foliage scenes there and awesome lighting. On Sunday, we managed to catch the closing of the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston
